
(ABCのうた—歌おう)
「ABCのうた」ほどシンプルな歌はあまり無さそうですが、人によっては「ABCのうた」ほど難しい歌はないと感じる人もいるかもしれません。
子供(特に英語を学習している子供)にはアルファベット文字の意味が理解できず、うんざりしてしまう歌に思えてしまうこともあります。ABCの歌の多くは、すごいスピードでアルファベットを言いながら歌っているため子供は自分が何を歌っているのか分からない場合があります。
そうなることを避けるために、この歌はゆっくりとアルファベットの1つ1つを言ってから歌が始まります。そして、「歌おう」バージョンではテンポが上がります。テンポは上がっても落ち着いた雰囲気があるので、座りながらアルファベットチャートを指差して歌ったり、車の中で聞いたりするのに最適です。

Classroom benefits: The Let's Sing version of The Alphabet Song is a little bit faster than the Let's Learn version, but still paced gently enough for young learners to be able to hear each letter and sing along. This is a nice version for children to "graduate" to once they have become comfortable and confident with the Let's Learn version.

Activity ideas:
Try lining up flashcards from A-Z on the floor or on the wall. Point to each of the letters as you sing the song. Next, remove several of the letters, leaving blank spaces where the letters used to be. Sing The Alphabet Song again, but when you reach a spot where there is no letter, everyone claps instead of singing. For example, it may sound like this: "A, B, C, (CLAP), E, F, G, H, I, J, (CLAP), L, M, N, O, P, Q, (CLAP), S, T, U, V, W, (CLAP), Y, and Z."
This adds an extra element of fun and challenge for the students, and forces the student to really focus on the letters and not just memorize the song. It also helps teachers see which students are having some difficulty with the Alphabet.
