Teaches

For many teachers, it can be a challenge to get your students to calm down for a story. This is a great song to catch their attention and keep it until the story begins. Once the story begins, there is about 5 minutes of peaceful guitar music which works wonderfully to keep them relaxed but attentive!

Activities

You can use this song at any point in the class that requires a transition from an active game or activity to a quiet one. Also, if it's one of those days when nothing seems to get the kids' attention at the beginning of class, try starting the class with this song! Then have all the children lay their heads down, while you call the roll or start a quiet activity.

This is also a great song for parents to use at home to signal reading time. One way to help children develop a love for reading is to set a comfortable, reassuring routine that helps them prepare to read. Play this song, let your child crawl up on your lap, and enjoy a book together. For more tips on helping your kids develop a love for reading, check out these great blog posts.

We also use this song when we have big events like Holiday parties with up to 150 kids. Such a large group can be tough to get control of, but we can put this song on and when the kids hear it, they know it's time to sit down and listen quietly.
