Language Focus: Actions (walk, fall, gallop, tiptoe, hop, twirl)

Classroom Benefits: This is a great active song to get students up and moving. It's good for starting an active class or any time the class needs a shot of energy. It also works well as a quick, active transistion between activities. When the song ends, all the students will be seated on the ground in a circle, so it's a nice song to use before circle time or story time.


Lyrics and actions:

(Make a big circle.)

Walk around the circle. (Walk in a circle.)
Walk around the circle.
Walking, walking.
We all fall down. (Everybody falls to the ground.)

(Everybody stands up.)
GALLOP!
Gallop around the circle. (Gallop like a horse.)
Gallop around the circle.
Galloping, galloping.
We all fall down. (Everybody falls to the ground.)

(Everybody stands up.)
TIPTOE!
Tiptoe around the circle. (Walk quietly on your toes and whisper.)

We all fall down. (Everybody falls to the ground, and stays there for the next verse.)

(yawn) I'm so sleepy! (Yawn and stretch.)

Sleepy, sleepy, sleepy. (Pretend to be falling asleep.)

(When the alarm clock goes off, say "Wake up!" Everybody "wakes up" and stands up.)
